Alkarim Versi (Alku), Founder
Alkarim, a Kenyan with a deep connection to the East African wilderness, has spent many years of his life scaling rocks and mountains in East Africa, Canada and South America, guiding safaris, and sharing his love for the continent with others. He has over 20 years of hands-on experience leading teams up various mountains, extensive experience in developing and facilitating youth outdoor education programs, team building and wellness programs, and managing cause-related fundraiser expeditions. He also has certifications with the Outward-Bound Mountain School in youth outdoor leadership development, minimum impact bushcraft, campcraft, high altitude mountaineering and experiential trainings in wilderness first aid, technical rock climbing, and search & rescue.
Alku also has over 17 years of broad working experience in the not-for-profit sector, in areas of board governance advisory, strategic planning and facilitation, and program & operational management in over 20 countries in Africa, Europe and Canada.
