For those with a little more experience, three to four day rafting expeditions are run between mid April to mid July, or mid November to early January. Adventurers are taken along a section of Athi River that borders East Tsavo National Park and runs through to Sagana. This fantastic journey passes through superb scenery where you will see an incredible amount of exotic bird-life and wildlife along the way. As well as enjoying the beautiful journey, this part of the river offers medium grade white water rafting to make this a truly unforgettable experience.
- 3 km of easy class II and III white water (plenty of opportunity to gain practice in the paddle skills required too run the lower part of the river).
- 6 km of relaxed paddling (abundance of bird life around or swim in the warm water).
- 7 km of river back starts with some easy class III water (paddle commands). The 3 big rapids (class 4 and 5) - Captains Folly, Can of Worms (four 90 degree bends in succession), and Sphincter Flexor.
- Numerous smaller rapids bring one to the class 5 Spasm, a series of drops over 3⁄4 km section with a big surprise half way through. 15 minute float brings you back to camp.
